Video Work

During my previous studying years, alongside my Art and Design work I have also created a library of video editing work, with some professional styles as well as funnier 'meme' style formats, which ordinarily appeal to younger generations on my main platform of YouTube. While strictly unprofessional work can be seen as not useful, I see this differently; Edits such as some below show merits of basic and some more complex editing skills, such as music timing and manual tracking for complex objects, which have been refined in a fun video style, to be projected into more professional work.

Check out some of my videos below and explanations why they are edited in each style.

This is London legion

One of the most recent projects I have completed is the This is London Legion video. This entailed compiling game clips as well as interactive community elements for the video. The overall point of this this was to create an introduction for a wider audience to the community community that we have within the organisation

Over the final and first months of 2022 and 2023 I have been working with London Legion to Edit and put together their TV broadcasts. These have been an incredible new opportunity and challenge for me, and I have really enjoyed working on them. Most recently we as a team have produced a live broadcast for our Overwatch team, with edited video segments produced by me within this mix.

Above was a recently created 'meme' style of video. The purpose of this feature was for my own personal friend group, but allowed me to directly refine video editing skills after a prolonged break from the activity. Within this video I believe I created a well paced and timed compilation of enjoyable clips, with an added flair of funny.

This video was created as one of the final projects of my time with Exe Academy and is also where I applied my techniques into a professional style of video. The overall video style I names the the 'Tom Scott' style, after a popular documentary style content creator. This involves lots of lagged audio cuts, as well as a heavily researched style in which he makes his videos. He often prefaces the videos with a larger question, which is either solved or explained within the 5 minutes of the timeline.

The videos above was part of our Exeternal Output Series with Exe Academy. While also staring in this video as the host, myself an the lead editor Rob, created a funny moments compilation, complete with subtitles and correct comedic timing. This was a one off for our series as we had a large amount of outtakes during the filming process.  Sadly these videos have now been removed by the organisation however, the work I completed is well founded within my knowledge
