Exe Academy

Exe Academy is a an Esports Organisation, hosted by Exeter College. We have several teams within our structure, playing games: Overwatch,  League of Legends, Valorant and Rocket League. As a student on the Pearson Btec Level 3 Esports, it is our role to manage the teams and specialise within games. This can mean coaching the teams in skill, creating training programs and Gelling exercises as well as designing media and general promotion for Exe Academy.

Social Media Manager

Within the Year of Esports, I have been the person dedicated to the managing of social media for Exe Academy. This is typically seen as a paid position within any company, as it is highly full time and requires the manager to be constantly on promotion, especially for a new beginning business or team. However, wanting to find a better path within what I wanted to do, I took over the Twitter and Instagram accounts in October 2021, and began creating promotion for our teams, without the use of Advertisement facilities. We had several large events during the year, and also reached a few milestones, which filled me with a personal sense of achievement. At the time of writing this (May 2022), the account sits at a steady 214 follows interested within our cause, and is currently preparing for the British Esports Finals.

Top Moments

Across the year, there has been several large millstones that have been hit, with photographs and graphics being created by me used, and well taken up, as well as larger events and exploding posts. The overall year was a technical and stressful period, as there was a lot to look towards and progress into with the Social Media Accounts

During one day at the college, we were visited by ITV news, who had heard about the equipment and teams that we had created and sent this out on national television

The BEF (British Esports Federation), also came to visit us on campus, interviewing students and players, gaining interest for the movement that they are also a part of.

Hijacked

I also made sure out student projects didn't go un-noticed on our social media channels, with streams and videos such as our series Hijacked which streamed for several episodes.

I am immensely proud of the work I have completed for Exe Academy, and it has ignited a passion within me for social media and Esports coverage, Which I have no followed onto a degree level of education, dedicating my time towards Esports and the growth of it.
